that it's just for entertainment, and that you don't really believe in it?

    •  Nope. Although I am pretty sure your question was (1+ / 0-)

Mostly snark, I am going to explain for others.

People who practice that brand of Christianity, see certain behaviors, influences, presence of, etc., as spiritually unclean. Meaning to even be in the presence of these objects or people using them is to open oneself up to the influences of evil.

So simply being with a group of people using an Ouigi board would be a no no. A Christian that goes to that University or practices that version of Christianity is supposed to leave, to make themselves absent from that perceived presence of evil.

      It's genuinely a No-Tolerance expectation.

But that's not the scary part. The scary part is how they would like to make Witches and Pagans, and other religious minorities disappear, failing coercive conversion.

I've been exposed to some of those people who think any observance of Haloween, even by little kids dressed up as princesses or cowboys or something else that has nothing to do with the occult, is satanic.

        •  Oh yea, me too. (0+ / 0-)

It totally ruins the holiday fun too.

That's why I know that "Teh War on Xmass" is really code for "Teh War on Halloween!"

have more in common than any of them would like to admit.  They've all got problems with role of women, they've all got problems with popular culture, and they've all got problems with anything that smacks of FUN.

Reminds me of a John Ashcroft joke that was circulating around DOJ when he was Attorney General and had put blue curtains in front of the statues of the Spirit of Justice in DOJ's Great Hall:

It seems that one of Ashcroft's aides was getting married, and asked Ashcroft for advice about his wedding night.
"Can we have sex with me on top?"  "Yes, that's fine once you're married?"

"Is it OK to have sex with my wife on top?"  "Yes, that's OK too once you're married."

"Can we have sex standing up?"  "No," said Ashcroft, "that's too much like dancing."

I wonder whether this habit of seeing satanic influences everywhere and in everything that they don't understand is not a case of projection; i.e., they project the evil within themselves and their (religious) practices onto the rest of us.

Sometimes they see genuinely bad stuff and label it with their personal--bad label.

But things have gone so far off the rails, that for the rest of us, it can be difficult to tell the difference.
