  •  if they are not given any airtime then the (16+ / 0-)

networks (other than Fox) are accused of being biased.  Now the choice is theirs and the rules are clear - no GOP talking points, make your case, treat the host with respect or we have the ultimate weapon - the mute button.  Wouldn't you like to see this happen to George Will or Queen Peggy

    •  MSNBC isn't accused of being biased? (3+ / 0-)

Of course it is!  Everyone from late night comedians, to main stream pundits are going to accuse MSNBC of being biased whether they flood the air with wingnuts or they banish them into the FOX news bubble for all eternity.

I don't like to cut off anyones speech unless they are completely out of control and disrupting the show.  He was not.  He was saying stupid crazy shit that we all knew he would say, but when she interrupted him, he stopped talking.

I like to watch Krugman go up against George Will.  Krugman absolutely embarrasses Will by refuting with facts, Wills crazy talking points.  Its far, far, more effective than simply cutting the mike.

      •  I disagree. If more people shut them down (7+ / 0-)

when they started their rude, loud rants they might try to be more polite and have a conversation instead of talking all over other people every chance they get.

I do not think the argument that we know how they will act and thus should let them act that way or not invite them is a very strong one. They should be forced to engage in evenhanded discourse and on topic.

respectful.  They who preach tolerance and yet want to slander those that practise it.
