  •  Paul was a tent maker (4+ / 0-)

... and he wrote letters advising people about their faith..

He was a first century man addressing first century problems to a first century audience.... his solutions about women speaking in church, marriage, celibacy and many other customs were meant for that audience ...and in some cases, what was good for the Church in Rome would not be good for the church in Corinth ...

Paul did not write these letters for anyone but to whom the people being addressed ...

Other people came later and declared them to be inspired by God (and then some really dumb people came and said they were dictated by God)

and that is what you tell the poor kids wrestling with their homosexuality vs what they have been taught all their lives

you help them step back to get some objectivity and begin the journey with one step ...

The 'Bible' was not dictated by any deity.. its own internal evidence shows that ... the Bible is not God speaking to us... the Bible is a history of what certain humans have believed about the deity, creation, society, love, sin, and lots of other things .. it is our ancestors telling us what their beliefs were ... and we need to go through this inheritance and discern what it is saying that is eternal ..not temporal

and just like the dietary laws and many other things in it, the homosexuality laws were for that time in that place ...
but loving each other as we would be loved...that is eternal

Give your heart a real workout! Love your enemies!
