  •  Wow. I just watched the video. (8+ / 0-)

This is horrible. It's not just a minor overreaction by the officers.

And based on the video and audio... the officers were saying there was a ton of blood.

And it definitely looks like there is a pool of blood the cops are walking around at the end.

I had one encounter with schizophrenia years ago. When I was 17. I was living in Las Cruces, NM and working at a Jack In The Box.

A man in his thirties came in. And asked for water. He was dressed well, short hair... but he was dirty and so sunburned that his skin was literally peeling off in chunks on his face.

He sat in corner. And was speaking very strangely (I don't remember all he said that made me realize things were not right), and he kept coming back for more water.

I was really concerned and after a couple hours I called 911.

It turned out. The man had schizophrenia and had not taken his medication for weeks. He was a business professional with a family. But he literally walked from California to New Mexico on foot in the blazing summer sun. He did not know where he was.

At least when I called the authorities they were able to genuinely help the guy. And who knows what would have happened to him if I had just kicked him out.

These cops that killed Kelley Thomas (who is my age)... should be held accountable.

Thank you Greg for posting this. I only briefly saw a blurb about it before I read this diary.

Love will save you from the cold light of boring reality... But it won't save me -- SWANS
