  •  50% approval is square one (7+ / 0-)

another election cycle where the country is fairly evenly split along ideological/party lines.  Nothing changes that equilibrium, it seems.

At least the GOP these days has found that situation to be strangely liberating....they have come to realize that no matter how extreme they position themselves, now matter how many policies they espouse that harm women, or latinos, or working stiffs, or the poor, or the unemployed, or students...their numbers seem to hold at that 50-50 level.

I think they  almost see it as a game at this point...They could propose killing kittens, it seems, and feeding them to large reptiles without putting much of a lasting dent in their national polling numbers.

Oregon: Sure...it's cold. But it's a damp cold.

    •  Except if BO is at 50, they'renot giving anything (5+ / 0-)

that might take some of that from him, so BO wins.

To me, it appears there's just a huge disconnect b/t Thugs and rMoney and almost as huge b/t rMoney's campaign bull and his real positions.

IMO rMoney just thinks as long as they keep it close the economy will win it for them.  The rest of Thugs think rMoney's lsoing won't affect them, so long as he doesn't lose by too much, and heck, he might win.

the only discouraging thing about this election is how impenetrable the racism and religious fundie-ism of 40% of voters is to anything.  40% of the country is running oon pure hate.  God help us.
