Why did the fundraising dry up?  It's supposed to ramp up especially as they had someone to run against in the later part of the month.

I'm trying not to be overly pessimistic, but we need a huge money advantage over Romney to make up for the 3rd party spending.  Months like this will not get the job done.

On my Twitter feed, mainstream political reporters are saying this puts/keeps Obama on track to reach the same $746 million he raised in 2007-08.

Now, it's true that Obama's comparative advantage won't be as big as in 2008.  But that has nothing to do with Obama's fundraising, it's because of Citizens United opening the door for superpacs, combined with rich liberals foolishly refusing to ante up for superpacs to counter what rich conservatives are doing.

Still, Obama will have some kind of spending advantage in the end.  And he'll have far, far superior field, and the power of incumbency which he didn't have last time.

So yes, months like this will get the job done.
