  •  You noticed that too about the LAT. (6+ / 0-)

Man that used to be a world class newspaper.

But their headline writers, esp their online headline writers, can be pretty damn biased. I used to write heads for a living. You never contradict the story in the head.

    •  similar to what's happened to WaPo (4+ / 0-)

I grew up in the D.C. area (and live here now) and the crusading investigative paper of Watergate has become the stuffy, barely Democratic, "centrist" paper of now.
With the exception of today's editorial which excoriated Virginia for its anti-gay bigotry in not confirming an eminently qualified candidate for a judgeship because he is gay.
But there are a few good reporters on the paper who deserve a lot of credit.

also brought the extensive article on Romney's bullying to light, did they not?

at the Post. The problem is the editorial page (with the exception of today's, as mentioned) and a large number of the op-ed columnists. And there are often times when important stories hit that they bury in back pages.
They reluctantly still endorse the Democratic presidential candidates, but it's always as though they feel dragged into it because they really prefer the Republicans.
They're certainly not the worst paper in the country -- probably among the top few, but they're sadly diminished from the Ben Bradlee days.

as a poet/writer/college student who writes essays, that someone else should right the title of an article. I had no idea they did that.

the wrap up of the article is basically, "Okay, so all that other stuff, that just contradicted it? It doesn't really matter."
