that's why in about a century or less, Christianity will state they were for same sex marriage the entire time in much the way they're anti-slavery, and a host of other unpleasent things based on  the Bible from American history and other nations.

I'm struck by how the meanest, cruelest, nastiest people brag about how they live in a Christian nation. It's rather telling.

But I'm generally more accepting of doctrinal gymnastics from "regular" churches that admit they are run by men and women trying their best to live up to a divine standard.

As opposed to a "revealed" religion with living prophets and apostles who actually have seen and talked with a resurrected Jesus Christ and speak for Him.

There's a difference.  But, as a recovering christian, I'm WAY overcritical of religions anyway and have to force myself to step back and look at the good as well as the bad.

there's any such thing as overcritical...as long as you're focused on your target. it took me a bit to get to this point.

Isn't Christianity "revealed" though? Although the original thread-starter's point is interesting, as a whole, it already did the "we changed our minds" thing in the 4th through 6th Centuries, CE, which is why we don't have a Gospel of Judas and others in most Bibles.
