  •  The parties are not "polarized" (19+ / 0-)

    There's no insane crazy lurch to the left such that Democrats are championing extreme positions. The Democrats are not a polarizing force.

    If we were, then we'd see the Democratic Party advocating, oh, I'm sure you can think of some possibilities - abolition of currency, jobs and housing for everyone, free healthcare, etc.

    But we don't see that. The Democratic Party right now is very centrist, calm, and advocating a continuation of life as we know it, with some minor, gentle improvements in the social contract (that are absolutely unattainable in the current climate).

    Then, on the other side, we have the republican Party, which advocates for a complete and total revolution and upending of everything as we know it. They haven't just run to the far right, they're off the fucking map.

    If there's polarization, it's coming 100-percent from the batshit stupid Teabag-sucking lunatics who've redefined conservative republicanism and turned it into something that thinks John Birch was a flaming commie.
