  •  The government's agents provocateur (6+ / 0-)

will do their dirty tricks regardless of how much a group tries to prevent them from doing so.

The best any organization can do is educate the protestors on the type of tactics these FBI "informants" use and publicly "out" them immediately.

The movement has to root them out and expose them to the public as soon as they appear.

      •  Takes away all the FBI's fun, no? (0+ / 0-)

They'll still get plenty of budget increases, though, because the bureaucrats who control them are still dumb enough to fall for their sales pitch.

I was reading an article a while back about how the FBI on the east coast was getting frustrated because most of the Mafia is old or in jail now.  The FBI got big budgets and employed a lot of agents just to follow the crime bosses around.  As they all get old or turn states evidence, the FBI agents were worried about job security.

Looks like the Occupy movement has provided a boon for their budgets.  The egregious anti-terrorism laws give them plenty of freedom to create a whole new group of people to follow, infiltrate and record, even if they have to create the crimes themselves.

        Job security.
