    it is a symptom of a corruption, immorality, and the military industrial complex. We had no business at all being in Iraq, and we should have left Afghanistan long ago.  

    Conservative estimates place the number of civilians killed in Afghanistan by direct attacks at approximately 16,000 through the first half of 2011.  In Iraq, over 100,000 civilians are estimated to have been killed as a result of that war which was based upon a lie.  

    So why are they protesting?  

    Perhaps it is because war is immoral.  Or perhaps because these wars are one of primary drivers of the deficit crisis.  Or perhaps it is both.  Joseph Stiglitz recently revised his estimated cost of the war in Iraq to be closer to $4 trillion.

    So why are they protesting?
