who just might think that it's okay for them to send those "dirty gays" on the one-way Highway to Hell as quickly as possible...including those who aren't gay but just "different".

    •  and you aren't going to stop him from... (0+ / 0-)

preaching his hate. Unless you run them off the bridge like Jake and Elwood did to those Illinois Nazis.

As a nation, the U.S. consumes the most hot dogs per capita. So you'd be wise to never underestimate our powers of denial.

but we can expose him -- sometimes the best disinfectant for bullshit is sunlight. The more people like this get exposed, the more moderates and independents are going to abandon that sort of speech and thinking, especially those moderates and independents who work with or are friends with GLBTs. And the day may come when if someone admits they're a member of that sort of church, sane and rational people will give them a wide berth and regard them as if they said they had a good recipe for fricasseed babies.

        •  the guy is a preacher... (0+ / 0-)

not some politician up for election. His flock obviously agrees with his hate speech. exposing him only gives him more fuel for the fire. The heathens have now targeted him.

I think the question is does exposure bring him and the right-wing-nutzoids more voting clout?

Or, does exposing him result in fewer votes and less power for the right-wing-nutzoid faction in America?

Personally, I think the answer is the latter.  So, I vote for exposure.

with their own television networks and colleges. Exposing them? They like the exposure and it leads to more followers.

That particular preacher.  But you don't just ignore hate speech, especially when they're using religion for hate.  I think that's unwise.

if you get all up and arms over what a moron says you play right into their hands. If you ignore them they tend to die off quietly. Don't feed the morons the attention they crave.

If he fills his pockets from being a loud-mouth hater, so be it.

Preventing that isn't much my concern.

Exposing his hate speech because of the potential harm it causes is why I am in complete agreement with the need to expose this shit.

Jesus would, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.  :-)
