    that FDR and others that advocated for 'social democracy' or 'democratic socialism' or whatever you'd like to call it, favored a regulated capitalism.

    It is, essentially, a mix of both worlds.  Let people rise and fall on their own merits.  Recognize that whether we like it or not there is a profit motive that drives many.  Harness that for the public good and put in place regulation to prevent it from spiraling out of control.  Provide a safety net for those that fall through the cracks.  To borrow from Churchill, it is not a perfect system, but it is better than all the other ones we've tried thus far.

    Enacting our agenda requires winning elections.

      TR by initiating the Progressive Era, FDR by resuming it. Both HATED America so much that they ended up saving it from itself. Damn commies.
