  •  4 houses on my street (12+ / 0-)

have been for sale for 3+ years
2 are now completely empty and no longer have for sale signs. The yards of those 2 are overgrown jungles.
There has been a rash of thefts in yards of anything that can be sold for scrap metal which include central air units.
With nobody taking care of those houses I dont see them selling anytime soon.

    •  Noticed the same in the neighborhood... (2+ / 0-)

There's a foreclosed place down the street that's been vacant for years and for sale most of that time. My neighbor across the street built three new houses on his back forty four or five years ago. I believe he did sell one. The sign he put up to advertise them has gotten way overgrown. There are a bunch of places on the cross street for sale, many vacant for years. No movement.

Our property values dropped again for this tax year. Taxes go down when the assessment does. I don't think we've seen the bottom yet around here.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?
