  •  I'm not certain that the fact that each pastor (1+ / 0-)

can have his own interpretation is all that beautiful  Especially if you're gay or a witch (they want to kill us) or a battered woman who is told to be more submissive and he won't hit her.

But then I left Christianity at age 20 over the Catholic church's stand on sexuality, homosexuality, birth control, abortion and the role of women .  WHile other sects were better in some areas, most were a lot worse. I am quite happy as a Wiccan where our entire credo is summed up into two page-long  poems: the Rede and the Charge of the Goddess. We use those as a guide but are expected to take personal responsibility for our actions, and to think of consequences BEFORE we act.  I like Jesus but I don't care all that much for the way many of his followers interpret his words--most of those pastors seem to prefer the OT to the NT because it allows room for more hate toward people who aren't just like them.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.

    •  I certainly don't think that it (0+ / 0-)

is in any way beautiful..  It is simply unfalsifiable.

As my father used to say,"We have the best government money can buy."
