Working my way through this.  Beginning to lean towards him not coming, but do think we could use more surrogate action---the press alone is worth it, imo.

Beginning to lean towards him not coming
As though any of us would have any influence on a decision one way or the other. It's all just idle speculation, anyway.

I realize there's no choice here regarding the president. But I do think a little pressure applied for more surrogate support is not out of our control.

And you can call it idle speculation on one hand, but on the other, I've seen SO MANY comments on Wisconsin threads,
throughout this whole process, saying Obama should go to Wisconsin, I thought it worth the discussion.

I think it's a good thing for Democrats who are angry he didn't come to see the reasoning of Democrats who think that's the right thing, and vice versa.

Someone here said they'd not work to elect Obama if he doesn't come to Wisconsin, I'm sure he's not alone in his anger.  So yes, I think it's a good discussion to have, if nothing else as part of disucussing and working out our disappointments and disagreements before November.

It was just the idea of whether any of us leaning toward/against his decision to come/stay away would impact the outcome.

The Wisconsin situation, being kind of special in its own way, might do well to avoid other big name surrogates as well.
Regular citizens of Wisconsin vs Walker and his big name fat cat buddies
Interfering big name librul Democrats from out of state vs duly elected governor of our fine state of Wisconsin.

The winning message and narrative so far has been the first one, it would be nice not to actively arrange for it to flip to the second version.

As for those who think he should come, they really don't know their politics very well. Or they may be among a group that wants to find reasons to be angry (and generate anger) at Obama about something, and this is just the current reason.

is certainly not afraid of making Walker look too republican  or too rich by sending in the calvary, in money and voice.

That's why I like the idea of Clinton coming.  He's hardly a
librul Democrat, but he does have gravitas in the party, and he does energize the Democratic center.
