First, this is a disaster for Rhode Island which is already in pretty disastrous shape, at best.  Our ex governor, Don Carcieri, republican and former CEO of Cookson America became smitten with Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling who, as an avid video game player promised hundreds and hundreds of jobs for the remarkably low price of 75 million taxpayer dollars.
Now there are no jobs, about 140 million in debt and interest to be repaid and once again we see the true contribution of the almighty job creating skills of the republican financial machine.
    Awesome, just fucking awesome.

that you had in Rhode Island (was it ~10yrs ago?) , I was extremely impressed by the way Carcieri handled the incident publicly.

He showed a great deal of compassion for the victims and their families and handled the press conferences with a high level of tact and professionalism.

Even his strongest detractors admired how he handled that horrible situation.  Sadly, from an economic standpoint, he failed miserably and 38 Studios is a prime example.  Probably his worst failure was slashing aid to cities and towns and then pronouncing his budget "balanced", unfortunately several municipalities are facing bankruptcy as he made a bad situation much worse.
