  •  I think I'll not be celebrating this failure. (0+ / 0-)

These were real jobs, and was about a real business. His company wasn't the only software/gaming company to get a secured loan. Schilling wasn't a banker who put together a hedge fund or something....he founded a business and did create jobs; it just didn't work out, it seems. I feel sorry for everyone involved, personally.

    •  It's the hypocrisy. Schilling was a jackass (0+ / 0-)

Republican who hated Big Government, yet used public funds (provided by a Republican governor) to fund his failed company.

It's the example that shows how full of bullshit their ideology is.

That he completely cocked up and screwed over 300 people is not celebration worthy.

Although I suspect this whole story ends with the headline "Schilling Last Seen Boarding Private Jet; Failed to File Flight Plan"

      •  How did he screw over 300 people again? (0+ / 0-)

Would you feel the same way if the game had sold better and the company was still up? Seems to me just to have been another startup that didn't quite make it.

        •  Well, he did screw them over (1+ / 0-)

by not telling them that they weren't gonna get paid, by waiting until the last possible moment so that some people worked for weeks without compensation and without being told no compensation was coming.

I would call that "screwed over."

        •  Oh and the company was supposed to have (0+ / 0-)

sold some employee homes (as a sweetener to get them to move to RI) -- they didn't and told them they did.

So, no job, two mortgages.  Is that screwed enough for you?
