    and we did not get electricity until I was 13. What a day! When service was finally started it was daylight. We turned on the kitchen light a few times but it wasn't enough for me. I went out back and watched the meter dial turn. Electricity! Will wonders never cease!

      as a child and don't remember any time without electricity, but I do remember it was an adventure to drive under the electric line from one side of the area to the other.

      It seemed new. I do remember the new phone, and that it was fun to listen in on the party line conversations.
