  •  The Christian Right is Heresy (46+ / 0-)

    Today's Right Wing Christians would be leading the party to crucify Jesus Christ.  Or anybody else teaching the ideas:

    1) Feeding the poor;
    2) Healing without charging for health insurance;
    3) Condemning rich rich guys;
    4) Teaching sharing and community values;
    5) Love and Peace.

        •  And likely got a cut of the action... (0+ / 0-)

          the .001% and their enablers always help each other and this is just one of many formulas for wealth extraction from the many to benefit the few throughout history. And of course it has been happening regularly ever since people began living in larger groups and supported a small, self-perpetuating ruling class who took greater and greater advantage of a societies wish fulfillment, fear and obligation structure to benefit themselves.

          The details of how they elaborated and promulgated all the important reasons that  they were wiser and more deserving varied a lot of course with plenty of "protection" and blessings derived formulas but the basic message behind all the elaborate facade and rituals always boils down to the same thing: just how or why their status was pre-ordained and why the plebs HAVE to pay up now!... one way or the other.

          Inevitably there is a lot of lot of fluff in the political/religious doctrines explaining why exalted middlemen, "special" people appointed by God who obviously had to have a larger and larger cut of the overall pie... and ultimately not even having to attempt much justification for what they take. It becomes far more "Efficient" and much easier to  just set things up so that the takings are more and more automatic and less visible or contestable... And then the game amounts to how long the current scam structure can last until the inevitable upheaval when the leeching has gone too far for too long.

          And after that all the best intentions and ideals in the world can only delay the next incarnation of ruling elite takers from taking over again and messing up the whole social deal yet again. It always starts with reformers and civic minded but the inheritors of the the innovators and the lucky tend to lose track of their origins and it is all downhill from there... their expertise and focus becomes more about how to keep and inflate the power and wealth they inherited and how to justify, protect and further empower what they do at the expense of everyone else who become less social partners and more obligatees to yet another form of stealth feudalism.

          The out of control self important middle-men can be restrained and even harnessed by an informed and involved public to everyone's benefit.  Evening out the historic swings from boom to bust and between too little and too much is to accept there will be rich and poor but to keep the distance between them under control via veto power of an informed public...keeping incentives and rewards somewhere withing sanity range of the actual benefits and keep them going to the people who actually generate them more directly.
