I'm in the LGBT history group, too; though, this might be more for the other groups, IDK. None the less, REALLY great suggestion. Thanks! You'd be welcome to do it to, if you like. It could even be a monthly state and country update or something. Lots of possibilities.

It is documenting what we know in the present for the sake of those in the future to be able to remember history.  It's a form of archiving, so to speak, isn't it?

The fact that you have had to apologize for the map speaks to the need for it.  There are two problems with it.  Is it current in terms of jurisdictional laws?  Is it current in terms of cultural norms?  And does one measure (laws or norms) trump the other?

It is for sure important. I like that you mentioned both jurisdictional norms and cultural norms. For example, I would suspect that for all practical purposes homosexuality is still illegal in India. Not sure how all of this could be tracked. Thoughts? Were you thinking to track nations around the world or just states in the US?

I guess we can see what everyone says.

Or maybe some kind of series in one of the groups, "Tracking the LGBT Civil Rights Movement." Or would this maybe even be a good group of its own?

I think for the History one they were wanting to do something more not directly in the present but we can see.

This would for sure be a great form of archiving.

        Again, wonderful idea!!
