Today of all days is not one to honor veterans.  It is the day to remember and honor those who gave their lives in war, and never had the chance to become veterans.

Today of all days is not the day to celebrate war and the military; it is the antithesis of those things; it is the day to put flowers on the graves of those whose lives war took away.

Today of all days is not the day to wave the flag, but rather to fly it at half-staff as you do, as a token of honor to the untimely dead.
