  •  Why do people vote for her? (4+ / 0-)

Because she is an attractive lady.

Now that she is aging, as Sarah Palin is too, their time in the limelight will be limited (for both of them), but the simple fact boils down to the unconscious - people automatically assume a pretty or handsome person is an honest, smart person.

It truly does have something to do with having symmetry in the facial features - which scream to the unconscious - good genes.

Think about Scott Brown.... - no comment.

Think about Ted Bundy.... - used his looks to lure women in.

Think about Sarah Palin.... - she was put out there for her sex-appeal, not her brains or ability.

      Attractive? To what species?

Admittedly the pushups and the FMPs help her with a very small minority of reel murricn mens.... well, perhaps not so small in dogsled country. But for those with more than two or three braincells still working, one actual LOOK into those perfectly empty eyes are far more than sobriety deserves.

      •  marcia's totally serious (3+ / 0-)

there has been study after study that tiny little things like facial symmetry, or being tall, play huge unconscious roles in sexual attraction.  in the case of being tall, they even seem to earn more.

        for reals.

. . . that in my stunned obeisance to well-formed cheek bones I misplaced an 'are' where an 'is' should be.
