    ...labor participation rate is a subject I have discussed many times and will be doing again this week as the jobs report come out. Not everything can be discussed in a single diary. That's, in part, what comment threads are for. There are some excellent comments in this thread on subjects that also aren't in the diary.

        your frank presentation of the cold hard facts on employment.

        It just seemed without that caveat, that this particular diary was spinning more than anything.. trying to make the ratio seem to imply the job market is getting better.. I just don't see that.

        After re-reading this diary, I am not really sure what point you were trying to make.. We can agree people want jobs and will stand 10-20 deep for each job when they become available.  So.. I am sorry if I misinterpreted the thrust of this diary.

          ...who want jobs than there are jobs available. We know this statistically. It's important, in my view, to show it at the human level.
