  •  I respect you as a Congressman (7+ / 0-)

but this isn't exactly breaking news...the breaking news is that Democrats enabled Republicans by buying their frame from Jan 20, 2009 and that includes everyone from the President to Nancy Pelosi to Harry Reid to every single Blue Dog.  Now the bill is coming due...and there isn't much people can do about it as the austerity meme is firmly grounded throughout the Government and Public.

The most ironic part will come when Republicans ram through a stimulus plan in Jan 2013 if we don't win.

The Democratic party is in drastic need of a shock to the system.  My hope is that this occurs after a narrow Obama victory in Nov.

    •  You hit the nail on the head (0+ / 0-)
      •  And here is the real gem (5+ / 0-)

McConnell won't even have to do anything regarding the filibuster because he has enough Blue Dogs to make him look bipartisan.

Democratic Leadership may mean well, but they failed miserably, include Speaker Pelosi who let Steny and the Blue Dogs run roughshod early on.  And she was the best of the bunch...they all failed to understand that the game changed...and they kept the standard playbook...Rahm also had a hand in this nonsense.

By the way, a major reason for the employment decline...Democratic govs in two of the biggest states going on an austerity binge, for zero reason...
