  •  That's President Bartlett (5+ / 0-)

    on West Wing.

But my mayor does have a lot in common with that fictional character.  Fortunately for us, especially those of us whom he has represented decently, honestly, and incredibly ably for almost three decades, Big Tom Barrett is for real.

If goodness does not prevail at the polls Tuesday, at least I'll still have him as mayor -- and at least many outside Wisconsin have gotten a chance to meet my mayor.

    •  I was researching the ancestry of Josiah Bartlett (1+ / 0-)

earlier this week. That would be THE Josiah Bartlett of Colonial era New Hampshire.

Many of the family trees posted on that include Bartlett have attached an image of an official portait or his statue.

As I scrolled down the list, one person had attached a picture of the West Wing Josiah Bartlett instead.

I think it's actually a nice tribute to each Josiah Bartlett.
