  •  I'm of two minds on that... (6+ / 0-)

I can certainly understand and even agree with your point to an extent. However, when pressure is put on them from outside sources, especially within the industry, their behavior changes. Sometimes they grow defensive and look foolish or make mistakes because of that, and sometimes they grow quiet and no longer talk about the offending thing they did like they did with the political commercial they put out this week on the Morning Morons. Both of these things lead to a lessening of credibility in the Village and in the rest of the media. Sure, these events as reported are not going to change the way their audience regards them (I'd maintain nothing short of a complete political and ideological reversal would do that), but affecting their cred in the Village is important too.

The events of this week on the Morning Morons were pretty damaging to them and if it hadn't been harped on by progressive sources, then would anyone have noticed?

I know Fox lies; do I actually have to watch reruns of the lies? Tell me what they lied about. I'll believe you.

Stewart and Colbert make Fox clips entertaining. MSNBC doesn't.

Ed and Rachel just don't do ridicule well.

but the original commenter said "Progressive Outlets" too, which IMO goes too far. I agree with you about MSNBC.

I think any criticism from MSNBC or cnn isn't regarded as much more than competition by the rest of the media and is pretty much ignored, so it's not very effective.  It's when you add other progressive outlets to the equation that I object.
