  •  Thank you both for all that you do (12+ / 0-)

The work is so vey important.  I have been preoccupied with personal health issues - but they have been addressed and improved.  I am OK now.  I just reviewed the treatment notes from my recent VA hospitalization.  They seem to show that some of my psychological issues worsened the cardiac issues - but it all turned out OK.  The hospital stay was my 1st since I was a young Airman.  Long ago.  I felt trapped and the loss of control of everything was shocking to me.  By the time I began to accept things, it was time for discharge (two days).

I will send you something tomorrow for your book.  I have a 2:30 appt. with my therapist, but I will get something to you before I leave for that.  As you know, my sisters, I was abused by my mother and then by two men while serving in the USAF.  The strangest thing of all, I look back with great love for those mostly wonderful years in the Air Force.  And, believe it or not, I still love my mentally disturbed mother who molested me when I was a pre-teen (she died in 1969). My VA therapist helped me to see that what she did was vile - coming into my bed at times. But she caused so much good in my life also.  She was sophisticated and lively and intelligent and strong and she helped me accept myself.  She told me when I was young that I "marched to the beat of a different drummer."  That actually was an inspirational meme that allowed me to be different and to question and to think mostly outside the box, as they say.

I will send you something tomorrow, dear sisters.
