    That is an excellent topic.
    I so wish I had done things differently before my own surgery! It wasn't exactly a rush; I had a month between my diagnosis and the procedure. (Nobody thought it was more urgent than that. Who knows, now.) But unfortunately I spent almost all my available time getting my OFFICE and colleagues well set up for my absence. Boy, do I ever feel like that was squandered effort now.
    I should have learned that lesson many years ago, when I worked up until the due date for my first child, and almost wound up with a serious labor complication as a result. NO job is worth my health.
