is that both Democratic candidates in NH are pro-choice women. Emily's List made a conscious decision to endorse one over the other. Hassan took the NH GOP tax pledge, and Emily's List endorsed her. Cilley refuses to take the pledge, and got the shaft. It's as easy as that.

    •  I'll say it simply. (0+ / 0-)

Emily's List endorsed Hassan, because she's a known quantity to them. Not because she signed a tax pledge. In fact one of their former staffers works for her campaign now. If your so pissed get of the internet and help you chosen candidate. Complaining is so unbecoming. By the way, your current Democratic Governor signed it as well.

hiring EMILY staffers makes here more qualified, and the good ol' gal system is so much better than the good ol' boy system.

        •  She's a highly qualified individual. (0+ / 0-)

Lets not forget that, okay. And when women are at parity in government, we can talk about the "gold ol' gals" all you want.

because she hired a friend of yours, don't pretend there are principles involved.

"known quantity" is exactly the rationale used to discriminate against women generally, but it's ok when it's your cronies being promoted.

            •  Yeah, when it's a man vs. a woman. (0+ / 0-)

These are two woman. The group made its choice. Quite whining, get over it, and fight for your candidate. That's how representative Democracy works. This isn't some corporate special interest. These are woman committed to fighting for their right to choose and reaching parity in our government.

I think Hassan is the more electable candidate and has more potential down the road (e.g. a 2016 Senate run), but Cilley sounds like a great person. Just wanted to add that, this isn't about diminishing her. If she wins the primary, Emily's List would endorse her in a heart beat.

Also, understand that this race is the only chance to have a female Democratic Governor in 2013. They don't want mess around waiting. They made a calculated choice. Probably, the smart choice.

You aren't a woman - and telling women how to act, what to write, and what to think is every bit as unattractive when it comes from a man who is supposed to be on our side, ndrw.

The game I was referring to earlier was scoring points and you really love to play it. The comments you responded with are a clear indication of that.

              •  would it matter? (0+ / 0-)

As it happens she is. The original point - that telling women what to write, how to act, and what to think is still unpalatable when it comes from a man, ndrw.

                  •  well, ndrw (0+ / 0-)

I wish you continued success in not being from NH, not living in NH, and not having a clue about NH politics. I feel certain you won't let any of that get in your way!
