    Wind and Solar don't have to generate a huge percentage of our electricity to win their spurs if they can take the edge off peak electricity rates.

    Heck -- there'd be a huge win environmentally if solar and wind provided just enough power to let us get rid of coal-fired plants and rely on natural gas as the fossil fuel from which to wean ourselves.  Not carbon-neutral, but only half the footprint of coal.
