  •  in Southeast PA, I get 100% of my power from wind (8+ / 0-)

and solar (99% wind and 1% solar) because I can choose an electric suppier instead of PECO.  Anyone in the PECO service area can do the same.  I pay $15 a year to be a member of the Energy Cooperative supplier and the monthly increased cost for my large suburban home (cost of 100% wind / solar option versus cost of regular PECO service "the price to compare") is about what it costs for one largest size Starbucks latte.  That's the monthly increased cost - the cost of a large coffee.  Have done this for last 2 years.  Have no idea why more people in the PECO electric service area (several counties in southeast PA) don't do the same.
