    you aren't going to think, "Oh well, Romney will be worse"

    And if it is true that some citizens are being deported by mistake, that really makes the spin easy to see through.

      might be deterrents to illegal immigration in the future of people who would care about being separated from the children they have here. Of course, that runs the possible unintended consequence of only anti-social immigrants sneaking in who don't care about having children and who may be more predisposed to causing trouble.

        and lack of opportunity. I think the deterrent right now is that not  a lot of people are hiring right now.  Many immigrants come over here to work to send money back home to their children.

        This is all based on supply and demand, and complicated by the war on drugs, in my humble opinion.
