  •  I'm not so sure the certain catastrophe of Romney (0+ / 0-)

would be worse than the continuing catastrophe of Obama.

Certainly I admit that it is entirely impossible but who could have imagined that election of the demented paranoiac antisemite Richard Nixon would result in one of only two historic history-changing liberal administrations in the 20th Century despite the enormous collateral damage?

Or that much of the good that might have flowed from that was aborted by the earnest but incredibly confused administration of Jimmy Carter would set the stage for the awful things that have happened since?

It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.
No one will ever top the wisdom of Yogi Berra.

It's a pity they both can't lose, but there will be as many as three vacancies to fill on the supreme court and god knows how many in the federal courts.

That's a lasting legacy. And Obama will not be as catastrophic on that score.

but we can be sure that Obama will not even consider a liberal for the Supreme Court.

But three more Sotomayors are better than three more Thomases, Scalias and Robertses who would then have an iron grip on the court for the rest of my life.

The damage Obama has done to the country is incalculable. Normalizing torture by changing torture from a war crime to a policy dispute. Signing off on, defending in court and expanding every last one of the Bush-Cheney abuses of civil liberties, without exception, instead of prosecuting the perpetrators. Helping Wall Street rob the citizens blind by making sure Wall Street gets to settle for pennies on the hundred dollars. Helping to poison the Gulf of Mexico by leaving the Cheney oil team in place at Interior.

          And so on.

I'm glad California is not a swing state so I have no reason to hold my nose, vote for him and then try to shower away the stench.
