  •  When I was in college (4.00)
in the late '70's the student health center had a little christmas tree decorated with condoms and diaphragms.  And some of the diaphragms had cute little crocheted borders.

the sponge is back! The "sponge-worthy" episode of Seinfeld is the only one I found remotely funny...but I never saw "The Contest"...

and I am not a huge seinfeld fan either.

that episode reminded me of a girl in my law school class whose dad on long island filled his garage with tab when they banned saccharine.

that's great.  I loved the sponge -- I used it as an alternate to my diaphragm (I couldn't take the pill).  It was so convenient.

The shop is closed, now.  My last pregnancy my husband and I made a deal: if I had a c-section, I'd have my tubes tied at the same time.  Otherwise he'd get a vasectomy.  I had a c-section.

About a year later, the hospital where I delivered stopped the practice of doing tubals at the same time as c-sections -- catholic hospital, decided it was against the church's teachings to allow non-catholic women, forced by their insurance company to use that hospital, to avoid a second round of surgery.  Grrrrr.
