    Failing to elect Gore got us Alito and then Roberts.  Getting them meant we had to deal with Citizens United.  Citizens United was most likely instrumental in losing us Congress, at least for these last two years.

    These elections are not merely about personal political expression, or voicing some sort of grief about a single policy issue, this is about being part of the decision about who makes our decisions for us in this Republic, whether we're talking the Legislative, the Executive, or the Judicial Branch.

    Do not underestimat the value of even gaining nominal control in one of these branches, or keeping it, for that matter.  Progressives can't win political battles without the politicians there who we can persuade.

    Simple question: In the years since Republicans successfully urged the disempowering of workers and unions in the Midwest, what has happened to those states economies?
