  •  Poor Willard lusts for power. (6+ / 0-)

Power, to be felt, has to hurt.  So, Willard inflicts hurt (assaulting people, cutting their hair, erasing their information base) in order to feel powerful.  However, the lust for power is like other obsessions and can never be satisfied.  So, Willard is like Sisyphus, destined never to reach his goal.

Of course, that's pretty much a given, if one's goals are unrealistic to begin with.  Is that why conservatives either lie about what they want or fixate on the impossible?  So, they either won't be disappointed when they fail or failure is pre-ordained?
