Yeah he got us into Vietnam.  He also liberated Black America.  Which of those is more important in the long run?  Ask your black friends about that.
but that was in pretty poor taste and looks racist, which I hadn't thought you would play into man. I'm hoping it was an oops moment.

LBJ didn't even get us in to Vietnam.  That was his predecessor in the Camelot White House.  Did LBJ escalate?

Well, yeah.  But he didn't start the thing.  I don't exactly remember, but I think the U.S. first started getting involved when the French were leaving -- oh, about 1959 or so.

To make the argument that the media has a left- or right-wing, or a liberal or a conservative bias, is like asking if the problem with Al-Qaeda is do they use too much oil in their hummus. Al Franken

The French were thrown out/left in 54. We filled in after that. It started as just advisors, then trainers, then LBJ sent in a surge tons of troops.

JFK inherited the mess. LBJ inherited it from him. He foolishly thought we could win if we just sent in enough troops. That 'overwhelming force' thing.

Funny how that doesn't work too well if the population doesn't really want you there.
