Back in 1990  I worked for a Computer Company in NYC. My boss a VP wasn't available for a product meeting with other department heads so he sent me in his place. I thought I handled myself well  at the meeting even though I was both the only female present and the youngest person in the room and it was conducted a very formal manner. A few days later my boss shared with me the feedback he received about me. The consensus was that I really need to concentrate on smiling because apparently I came across as too serious.

That was over 20 years ago and it still pisses me off when I think about it. It pisses me often even more that nothing ever seems to change. Men can behave however they please, but we are always judged principle on our demeanor which is expected to be warm like a plate of freshly baked cookies.
