  •  Gov. Beshear of KY did this the right way. (15+ / 0-)

    He's criticized Obama on the issue of coal, but he publicly endorsed Obama a month before he was strongly reelected last year.  His opponent, Republican St. Sen. Williams waved his arms and tried to make it an issue, but in the end, it only made a dent.  Manchin, Tomblin, and Rahall all are very strongly favored for reelection this year so they're just being stupid.

      election than a senatorial election, though, because governors don't vote on legislation proposed by the president. Or do you think I'm making too sophisticated a distinction, and that most voters really make no distinctions between the politics of governors and senators when deciding who to vote for?
