I am a Maine Democrat and I did not vote for Cynthia Dill in the primary but I do know who she would caucus with if elected. I have no idea about Angus King. He is in favor of keeping the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest and enacting the Simpson-Bowles recommendations. The DNC totally abandoned Maine as soon as King announced his bid for election. Why can't we support good Democratic candidates instead of Republican-light candidates? This fight has been lost before it even started.

First, he's very much a mainstream Democrat, and actually, more liberal than that, if you take all his record as a whole.

Secondly, it's been obvious since the beginning that with him in the race, he is the only non-Republican who can win. Democratic officials know that.

He'll be a damn sight better than Snowe. Let's be glad.
