    there was a tmie when people thought opposing dictators was a good thing.  Now apparently that era is long gone.

    My point was that our involvment in Libya hardly qualifies as a war on our part.  We helped one side in a war that was already ongoing.  In this case it was the side trying to overthrow the government.

    Strange that the Arab Spring would be so unpopular here.

      Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Egyptian military? The only dictators the US opposes are those that do not conform to Washington's wishes.

        Let me gets this straight.  If we don't act to overthrow the Saudis or push for liberalization (which has been happening) then we should ignore all dictators worldwide?

        No, where there is a chance to do something against one, the chance must be taken and when the chance comes for the others, we should take that too.  We should definitely have supported the uprisings in Bahrain as well

        We also ought to pull all aid to the Egyptian military as well unless they give way to elected leaders, even of they are the MB.  

        In Saudi and UAE we should be using our leverage to push for democratization and liberalization.
