    I agree with both points you make.

    I have no problem with research. I have a problem with it being misused and misconstrued to drive a particular agenda. That applies to all sides of the debate. All research based conclusions should be examined and challenged. The problem is that when I challenge some of the questionable conclusions by the neo-lib reformers, I am accused of not being interested in "what's best for kids".

    Of course your second point it absolutely correct, which is while I will use it the next time that someone uses that offensive phrase.
