    When you're dealing with Joe Schmo at the auction sale, you get the horse vetted.

    When you're dealing with the wife of the former governor of Massachusetss and you're told that the horse is sound, you must might trust that you've been told the truth.

    Because this is a "classy" lady. Or so you think.

      To the vet's shame if he did not report it, as alleged.

      Toxicology is standard in any prepurchase. Vets will always ask if you want one, and will also offer to take blood and hold it for later testing as a lower cost alternative, for use if something seems Not Quite Right after the horse is delivered.
