    but I think that jayden's comment hints at more comprehensive communications difficulties.  Even "We're all in this together", while concise, is not nearly specific enough to be a good basic slogan.

    For many years, the Republicans' slogan was also six words:
    "Strong defense. Lower taxes. End abortion". And it worked like a charm, at least in part because, up until the W era, it was mostly true (though I think we could attack the first two premises pretty effectively at the point). But it also worked because it told the voter very specifically what the "product" was.

    "We're all in this together" is too vague, and sounds like a campfire song to me. Also, it's a shame but since the Republicans have granted permission for everyone in this country to be selfish, we'd need to demonstrate what we can do for each individual voter. I'd be much happier if we were completely up front about two or three main agenda points and left it at that. Something like, "Decent jobs. Health care. Equal rights."
