I'm not in your party but last year I made substantial contributions to Ben Chandler, Stephanie Herseth, and John Barrow and therefore I followed their races fairly closely. It seemed to me that the Republicans put a lot of time, money, and effort into those races and I personally felt pretty good about the results.

They haven't voted on every issue the way I would have but then again there's also been cases where people like Joe Biden voted for the bankruptcy bill, or 90 representatives and senators voted for the Terri Schiavo law. I wouldn't have voted for either one.

But what are you going to do? Are you going to label them as well?

Ok, I've had a few beers and I don't know what the hell I'm talking about but this kind of discussion doesn't appear to me to be very constructive.

If I'm full of shit then feel free to troll rate me and if I'm sticking my nose into something that's none of my business then just tell me and I'll keep my opinion to myself on this topic in the future. It just seems counter-productive IMHO.

You're comments are great and I for one welcome them. You should post on this site more often, a lot of people here need to hear your point of view. There is a ton of labling that goes on here and most of it is crap. Blue Dogs do have one important label. They are all Democrats. Many of them in places where that's not a very popular thing to be. As usual, there's a lot of huffing and puffing going on by people who's experience with politics dosn't go much pass the internet. Try running a race in South Dakota, Kentucky or here in Texas as a party line national Democrat and see where it gets you. I'll tell you, you'll be lucky to break 40%. You really want to build a majority, build a bigger tent. Find people who believe in Democratic principles but who can identify with conservative districts. Good candidate recruitment should be our number 1 priority.
