  •  I rather think that (2+ / 0-)

the day we rid the country, and the world, of those who are not having their basic needs met, then we can worry about the mass of the population becoming greedy.

In the meantime, all we have ever asked is that those who have benefited contribute a fair share.

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.

Of course. And to every politician/millionaire who ever entered a Christian church and put that on their resume and campaign agenda, may I please remind them what their main man says:
But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Your comment will, of course, be ignored by those to whom it is addressed. Many Christians, like their Muslim or Jewish brethren, practice selective religion, i.e. taking whatever parts fit their preconceived ideas and ignoring the rest. Like that stuff about swords into plowshares and turning the other cheek. Anyway, n.w.s., right on!

If the government is for sale, why not blame the buyers?
