I remain optimistic because I had pretty low expectations to begin with.

I knew on the day I cast my vote for America's First Black President that we were going to suffer a painful and inevitable political backlash.

I was certain that the progressive agenda was going pay a steep price for our "historic moment" at the inauguration of President Barrack Hussein Obama.

Sure enough, the backlash came in the form of the TeaPuppets, their "Summer of Fury" at the ACA town hall meetings, and the 2010 midterm elections. RepubliCorp - as always - exploited white America's racial resentment as expertly has they always have.

RepubliCorp is still powerful. We still have much work to do.  But a backlash is just a backlash. We've been wounded in the battle, but they have nearly exhausted their supply of "orcs".

PBO has been forced to play mostly defense, but I believe that his second term will be very different from his first.  The uneasy alliance between RepubliCorp and their blue-collar supporters is already fracturing - the defeat of Mitt Romney will be fatal to it.

    Have you noticed?
    Politicians who promise LESS government
    only deliver BAD government.
