Kuykendahl. :) That's the name of a road in Houston.

Sometimes I really miss Houston. I did live there a long time, including through high school (I went to HSPVA in Montrose which was a VERY different neighborhood back in the 80's) and actually lived in Montrose much of my adult life. At one point, right on Branard between Stanford and Greeley, a block from my HS. ;)

my first apartment was on Jack, a block away from HSPVA. Loved that neighborhood and would ride my bike around on days off. Too many cars down there for that now.

and over off of Dunlavy in two places, a house on Castle Court and an apartment off Dunlavy across from the Fiesta (those buildings are long gone though). Also had a great apartment up on Polk St. at Taft. Second floor with a breathtaking view of the downtown skyline from my living room and balcony. That's the apartment I loved the best besides my two floors I had on Avondale Street near the gay bars.

I had some awesome apartments in Houston, I must say.

on Fannin right downtown (on corp expenses).
That was really upscale for a country boy way back then. Yow, fancy place, garage parking, huge pool, valet and concierge service, laundry done, resturants, even a theater on the ninth floor(?), stuff to do all around. The thunderstorms could be awesome from the upper floors too, kids and the ex luvved it.

I spent the better part of the last decade living near there. I love the Alabama Ice House, The Chocolate Bar, Tacos Tierra Caliente....nothing like that in upstate NY. :'(
