    ...LBJ would probably be considered on of the top 6 Presidents in American history behind only the sacred five: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and the two Roosevelts.

    He was an enigma to be sure, but there are fewer northeast liberals out there that cared more for common people and underprivileged people than he much less ornery Texas SOBs. And that description is made with great fondness. Quite an accomplishment for a man that was born and raised in one of the most conservative, Republican areas of the state in a time in Texas when Republicans were about as popular as Communists at a 1950's McCarthy rally.
